AGF Media Services was founded in 1967 in Hollywood, California. Early operations included processing and loading Super 8mm film into continuous loop cartridges and the rental and sale of the projectors used to display them. Super 8mm film was the first point-of-purchase motion picture media, and was the predecessor to later technologies such as videotape, DVD and digital files. AGF was the largest national dealer for major equipment manufacturers such as Technicolor and Fairchild, and early clients included The Walt Disney Company, Sears, Roebuck & Company, Safeway Stores and a variety of companies in the corporate, industrial, educational, and medical markets. As presentation technology began to evolve, clients looked to AGF to help them find new and exciting ways to convey their message, and AGF too evolved.
